News “Seagoing Robots – Autonomy in the Maritime Industry” Event a Success

April 2, 2021

The Chatham Marconi Maritime Center, in North Chatham, Massachusetts, recently welcomed Sea Machines’ Captain Lauren Lamm, vessel test lead, to speak during its online event, titled “Seagoing Robots – Autonomy in the Maritime Industry.” Lamm, who provides demonstrations of the company’s products on a regular basis to Sea Machines’ customers, remotely commanded an autonomous workboat in the Boston Harbor from her desk, giving event participants the chance to virtually observe autonomous vessel behaviors (such as autonomous waypoint following, pattern autonomy, and obstacle detection and collision avoidance) in an active marine environment. Following the demonstration, Lamm had the chance to answer questions about the state of Sea Machines’ current technology and what is in store for the future. Read more details, including some of the questions and her answers here.
