“New technology for marine patrol vessels is constantly emerging and has the capability to reduce operator risk, save time and reduce costs,” wrote Silver Ships’ Shawn Lobree, federal contracts manager, in this month’s issue of Marine Log magazine. The top technology listed making this possible is autonomous control systems, which Lobree calls “a game changer.” The story goes on to outline several use cases for Sea Machines’ autonomous marine technology aboard patrol boats, including:

Maintaining a constant presence on the water

Relief for personnel manning requirements

Reducing risk to crewmembers

Reducing fatigue

Extending mission duration
