The Sea Machines industrial-grade joystick offers portable helm operations, allowing mariners to command a vessel while monitoring operational indicators from a location outside of the wheelhouse.

Remote Payload Control

Traditional payload controls are located inside a wheelhouse, requiring on-board operators to engage equipment from a location that doesn’t always offer the best vantage point. Sea Machines frees the operator to engage vessel payloads — such as cameras, pumps, sensors and other equipment — from anywhere on the vessel that offers the greatest visibility. Off-site operators can remotely activate and control on-board equipment from a distance of +/-1 kilometer.

Remote Vessel Monitoring

Advanced Perception & Situational Awareness

Slated for release in 2020, a future Sea Machines system will use Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to improve at-sea situational awareness, object identification and tracking capabilities.

Using advanced sensors to collect a continuous stream of information from a vessel’s environmental surroundings, Sea Machines will identify and track potential conflicts, and efficiently display the data in the wheelhouse. This sensor fusion will provide a target’s name and flag, speed, course and more to an on-board or on-shore operator, enabling faster classification of the approaching object.

Sea Machines is now offering government customers a commercially available 29-foot autonomous vessel, made possible by Metal Shark’s “Sharktech” autonomous division.
